Newegg.com versus Amazon.com
While some online retailers do win my loyalty from time to time, I don't tend to let that loyalty override simple finance logic. I found this deal on a 17" laptop at both Amazon.com and Newegg.com:
AVERATEC 7100 AV7115-EH1 NoteBook AMD Mobile Sempron 3000+ 17.0" Wide XGA+ 512MB DDR333 80GB DVD±R/RW ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Integrated - Retail at Newegg.com
Averatec AV7115-EH1 17" Notebook PC (Mobile AMD Sempron 3000+, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, Dual Layer DVD Burner) at Amazon.com
As you can see, these are both really good deals, but the Amazon.com deal is much better, it includes free shipping, a rebate worth $50 more, and if you have the pi/2 discount, you are getting an even better deal.
So while you may really like a retailer (I like Newegg), keep your options open to other potential sellers.
