Verizon EVDO Internet Access

One of the best tech deals I've happened upon is the use of Verizon's high speed EVDO mobile broadband connection as part of your normal mobile plan. In fact, I'm using it right now from Hawaii!

I posted a quick tutorial on informedbanking.com for use with the Nokia 770, but you can use the same concepts for Macs, and presumably PCs though I've never actually tried!

Tutorial and Howto Connect to the internet using the Nokia 770, Motorola e815, and Verizon Wireless

These instructions were based off of instructions from the awesome Howardforums.com which I can't seem to find right now. Here are some similar ones:

Its actually an incredible review. They take AA batteries which is cool.

Galaxyvoice VOIP Deal

Check out Galaxyvoice for voice-over-internet-protocol service. They have a free service for New England and New York: $25 setup fee, plus $2.95 / month for FCC and government fees. Still an incredible deal.

For added coolness factor, set it up with Asterisk Open-Source PBX!

Battery Chargers

Bought a Sony Battery charger at Amazon for $20, which qualified for free shipping with the purchase of Senheiser headphones for $7. The battery charger is a smart one that shuts off once the batteries are completely charged.

Electronics; $7.99

1 "Sony BCG-34HE4 Super-Quick Worldwide Battery Charger with 4 AA NiMH

Main Board and Processor from Newegg, and Power Supply from Outpost

I love shopping for tech deals, and when I find a good one I can't help but push the button. Here's what I purchased this week to build a new machine:

PC CHIPS M861G V1.6 Socket 754 VIA K8M800 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
Item #: N82E16813185057 $40.99

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 1600MHz HT Socket 754 Processor Model ADA3400AIK4BO - OEM

Thanks to the fact that Newegg rocks, the motherboard was free with this combo!

At Output, I picked up this power supply with free shipping and a $50 rebate:

I'll post specs about the new machine once I get it built.
